Studied Naval Architecture & Mechanical Engineering at the Technical University of Aachen (RWTH) in Germany.
Worked initially as Naval Architect in the Technical Department of a Ship Management company. Joined Germanischer Lloyd (GL), the German classification society, and worked for almost 20 years as Station Manager, Principal Surveyor for hull, machinery and statutory matters, Lead Auditor for management systems certification (ISM, ISPS, MLC, ISO 9001 and ISO 14001), Trainer and Division Quality Manager.
Joined Columbia Shipmanagement in 2007 taking over the management of the company’s new building projects as Deputy Director until 2011 and later on as Director for ensuring the harmonization of the group management system. Holding presently the position of the Group Director QSHE & Compliance, responsible for all quality, safety & health, environmental protection and energy efficiency matters, as well as for the company’s compliance with mandatory and voluntary certification schemes.
Elected President of the Cyprus Naval Architects and Marine Engineers Association (CYNAMEA) since December 2015.
