The Bachelor of Science Degree in Hotel Management provides both specialized courses regarding how hotels function and generalized courses in business administration. There are electives in computing and foreign languages.
The Bachelor’s Degree may be earned after four years of study.
General Objectives
The Hospitality (Hotel) Management program at Intercollege offers students from various cultures and backgrounds the opportunity to earn vital qualifications in Hospitality Management which are essential for success in the dynamic and challenging workplace of the service industry. The focus of the program is on the development of managerial skills, abilities and competencies of all graduates, which are essential for all hospitality managers. The program combines academic and vocational orientation as the students are closely involved with hands on experience through their internship training. Students not only gain an educational foundation in theory, but also learn to apply their academic knowledge in various hospitality settings. The variety and scope of the courses offered provide graduates with a sound basis for entry-level supervisory/managerial positions, eventually enabling them to acquire leading roles in organizations in the multicultural environment of the hospitality industry.
The curriculum is designed to provide students with the knowledge required to proceed to managerial positions in the hospitality industry, and to supply them with a broad education in other essential areas, such as Social Sciences. The curriculum thereby enables the students to acquire facts and competencies in the skills vital for responsible positions in the Hospitality industry and to develop cultural awareness, social responsibility and personal integrity. The program focuses on the academic as well as the technical knowledge required to lead and manage modern hospitality operations, such as hotels, clubs and restaurants and emphasizes the analytical as well as the interpersonal communication and organizational skills needed by hospitality professionals.
In line therefore with Intercollege’s mission, the Hospitality Management program aims to educate students to become responsible professionals with a promising career path for further successful career achievements.
Learning Outcomes
Upon completion of the program, students will:
- Have a solid academic background that will ensure their contribution towards effective industry operations in the hospitality sector.
- Obtain technical knowledge required to lead operations in modern hotels, clubs and restaurants with emphasis on analytical as well as interpersonal communication and organizational skills, which are crucial to become successful hospitality professionals.
- Acquire facts and competencies to build skills vital for the hospitality industry and develop cultural awareness, social responsibility and personal integrity.
- Gain valuable industry-related knowledge, skills and experience.
- Have the necessary abilities to manage sections / departments in hospitality operations, with brilliant prospects for career advancement into general management and beyond.
- Have the ability to develop effective operational plans and to schedule and control available resources in order to maximize guest satisfaction and company output.
- Be able to motivate, lead and guide personnel towards the achievement of company goals.
- Be in a position to maintain a positive working environment that promotes teamwork, efficiency, productivity and cooperation.
- Be able to perform efficiently at both national and international levels and meet the constant challenges of the dynamic global tourism industry.

Admission Requirements
Entry Requirements
The general admission requirements is for applicants to have a High School Leaving Certificate (i.e. 12 years of education or 11 depending on the country of origin, e.g. Russia) OR equivalent qualifications. Some programmes may have additional requirements in which case they are specified separately under the relevant programme details.
Regular admission to academic programmes requires a recognized High School Leaving Certificate with a grade of 7.5 out of 10 or 15 out of 20 or a rank in the top 50% or equivalent qualifications. This status may be contingent upon demonstrating proficiency in English with a valid TOEFL score of 500 and above, or Computer –based TOEFL score of 173 and above, or Internet-based TOEFL (iBT) score of 61 and above, or GCSE (or GCE) English Language “O” Level of “C” or above, or IELTS of 6.0 and above or Cambridge Exams (First Certificate with Grade B and above, as well as Proficiency with Grade ‘C’ and above), or the College English Placement Test. Advanced standing will be admitted on the basis of additional qualification (e.g. GCE “A” Level).
