Admissions Criteria

Applicants who wish to enroll to the BSc in Nautical Science program/CoC Officer in Charge of a Navigational Watch, must fulfil all of the requirements indicated in the Table 1. 

Table 1: Entry Requirements

  • Minimum Grade 15 out of 20 (75%)
  • 10th & 12th Level (in English Language)
2 Mathematics
  • Minimum Grade 15 out of 20 (75%) or
  • Successful completion of a Mathematics Placement Test

4 Personal Interview with the Programme Coordinator (in person or online) Successful Completion of the Personal Interview

English Language Requirements

Any EU and Non-EU student who wish to apply for the BSc in Nautical Science programme of study, must possess and submit to the Admissions Office one of the following English Language Certificates. Table 2 indicates the Minimum Accepted Grade required for each certificate as well as its validity duration. Certificates that do not meet the below criteria will not be accepted.

All of the above Certificates are equivalent to the Common European Framework of Reference for Languages (CEFR) with a Minimum score of B2.  

Upon fulfillment of the above Entry Requirements, applicants will receive a Conditional Acceptance Letter and in order to proceed with the official registration to the BSc in Nautical Science, one must submit to the Admissions Office the following mandatory documents:  

  • Medical Fitness Certificate for Service at Sea (based on the Regulation STCW I/9) from a doctor/medical center/hospital approved by the relevant competent authority of your country of origin (For Non-EU applicants, upon arrival to Cyprus one must re-issue the Medical Fitness Certificate for Service at Sea from a doctor/medical center/ hospital approved by the Department of Merchant Shipping in Cyprus 
  • Valid Clear Criminal Record Certificate 
  • 2 recent Passport size Photos (or in digital form) 
  • Copy of Passport
